Bins Artemis

ARTEMIS is an automated 3D surface mapping system ideal for over sized bins with multiple drawing points that require accurate surface mapping.

What Does The ARTEMIS Solution Do For You?

ARTEMIS automatically generates and records an extremely accurate 3D surface map of bulk commodities stored within oversize bins. This ensures accurate volume calculations and thorough record keeping under circumstances that traditionally made this nearly impossible. Most over sized bins have multiple drawing and filling points which are sometimes used simultaneously during the course of a busy day and this results in an very uneven and unpredictable surface profile. With ARTEMIS these difficulties are a thing of the past.

How Does ARTEMIS Work?

(Refer to actual scans directly above)

  • 1) The ARTEMIS scanner scans the surface of the bulk commodity and a point cloud is generated. Each data point supplies our ART software with the spatial co-ordinates it requires to generate the subsequent surface map. You will notice that there are floating points in the first scanning pass. These are caused by dust and other elements within the bin. Our software “scrubs” the scan of these spikes and thus ensures that  a clean and accurate 3D surface map is produces (see 2)
  • 2) The ART software uses the information sourced by the ARTEMIS laser scanner and generates an accurate 3D profile.
  • 3) Before installation of the ARTEMIS solution a bin survey is done  to source accurate bin dimension. Here the bin is drawn in to visually indicate current stock levels.
